Finding Balance in the Stillness

Long time no talk! My fiancé' and I (with doggies in tow...) have started our grand Australian road trip tour and it has been an amazing start to our journey. We are seeing so many beautiful places, stunning beaches and walking in nature everyday. With all the beauty we're experiencing, it could be easy for us to become complacent. To become so focused on the next destination that we forget to enjoy the one we're at now.

And it got me thinking, how often do you ask someone how they are, only to hear the reply: "Busy"?

It’s almost as if we believe that if we stop for a moment, we’ll lose balance—like a bike that topples over the second it stops moving. But what if true balance isn’t in the constant motion, but in the stillness?

In the rush of life, we rarely pause to be grateful for where we are right now. We’re always looking ahead, checking the next thing off our to-do list, and pushing forward. But in the quiet, in the breath between tasks, there is a space where we can rest, reset, and realign.

I invite you to carve out just a few minutes each day to pause—whether it’s on your mat, during a quiet walk, or simply with a deep breath. Notice how stillness doesn’t throw you off balance, but actually helps you find it.

If you need a little guidance, my online classes are always here for you—whether you’re looking for movement or stillness, strength or softness.

I would recommend checking out my Simple Pranayama in the 'Rest and Recovery' channel of the exercise library (it takes a moment to load, give it time).

Wishing you moments of quiet and balance,
